Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand, Auckland Presbytery

The church is a body of people who together represent Jesus Christ in their community. We aspire to say what He said and care as He cared. Originally the Presbyterian (meaning "led by elders") Church in New Zealand was composed of Scottish immigrants. The Auckland Presbytery represents all the leaders of all the churches in the Auckland region.

Today our churches have a diverse mix of cultures. Some churches are multicultural. Others are predominantly European or Pacific Island or Asian. Some have traditional services, others contemporary, yet others both. While sharing a common commitment to Christ's mission, each church is likely to be different to the next because each one is aiming to advance Christ's mission in a particular community.

The Presbytery values youth, children and family ministry.

Each local church is an agency for Christian mission, which the Auckland Presbytery supports through its executive and committees, communicating each month through the Presbytery Newsletter.
