Study Leave

Study Leave is Presbytery-approved leave for a planned programme of learning with clear, specific goals and usually an integrative theme. Ministers who comply with the PCANZ provisions are paid while away from the parish on approved study leave. Study leave usually applies to programmes of more than two weeks, and extra funding may be required.

Continuing Ministry Formation

CMF is a minister's engagement in regular professional development through short courses, retreats and other educational or formational activities. This ongoing ministry development is fitted into a normal working year and is required for all ministers of Word and Sacrament in Auckland Presbytery. It is covered by different regulations than Study Leave.

Topics covered by ministers who took Study Leave in Auckland in 2007:

  • Mission in Myanmar
  • The Minister as Person
  • Transforming Parishes
  • Effective Use of Technology

Exploring Safe Boundaries in Ministry

A workshop facilitated by Wendy Jury under the auspices of the Auckland Presbytery Pastoral Committee. Thursday 18 September 2008 at St Peters Church, Mount Wellington.
Time 10am - 3pm, cost $15.00 includes course booklet and lunch.

Our aim is not to promote fear or insecurity. It is simply that research tells us if we are aware of the issues, and committed to grow in consciousness about how we relate to others, especially in certain roles, then we continue to grow and create healthy environments which are less tolerant and naïve about abuse at any level and especially behaviour that is potentially traumatising.

Ministers of Auckland Presbytery are required to attend this workshop once every seven year CMF cycle.

Don't forget the "No Surprises" policy - what is this?
